This Kalamkari Hand printed fabric in Buddha Print is made of cotton. Thick-ish cotton which practically good for anything from table linens, tote bag, curtain, pillow covers, upholstery, etc.

The kalamkari is a Indian heritage which in ancient days was made by drawing folktales (using pen =kalam) into a piece fabric. However in modern days, kalamkari mostly done by hand printing using pre-made wooden blocks. Thus, imperfections of colors and prints from the hand printing process are an added charms of all Indian block printed fabrics.

All fabrics are carefully handpicked to assure the quality of each fabric. I used most of the fabric for my own projects, from bag making, dresses to quilting.
